ABILITIES?! - Blue Fire/Pyrokinesis - Indicator of a child of Satan. Because of them he's pyrokinetic. He can control the flames to an extent, though if his blade is cracked he can't control them at all. The flames can be used to destroy completely or be directed such as lighting a candle or burning away ropes around someone but not burning the person themselves. When his sword is unsheathed, the flames form themselves as horns in his hair (though it's not actually horns) and at the tip of his tail.
Karikura - His sword. The only thing that binds the rest of his demonic powers. When unsheathed, his appearance changes and the blue flames that go with his being a child of Satan go down the blade and around his body. The sword is also called the Demon Slaying Blade. His twin Yukio can also use the sword, though he's not trained in it as Yukio is a Dragoon (firearms user).
Demon Telepathy - He can communicate with demons that aren't humanoid like this. Well, more specifically he can hear their thoughts and they can hear him speak normally.
Kuro - His cat sidhé familiar, formerly Shiro's familiar. Hehe Shiro and Kuro....
Accelerated Healing - Half demons heal quicker than humans, though he's not immortal and can be fatally wounded.
Gehenna Gate - Gehenna is the world of demons within the Blue Exorcist fandom, but anyway, both his and Yukio's blood would summon the gate to the world of demons. That is to say, their blood along with the proper array would summon it. They try to avoid situations like this.

OVERALL?! - Normally, Rin looks primarily human albeit a human with pointed ears like an elf and darker than the normal blue eyes. Otherwise he also has a long tail with a tuft at the end somewhat like a lion's, and the fur is a darker black than his hair. This is the only place on his body that he has fur. He also has claws, though he trims them down most of the time so as to not shred everything in his path. When in his 'normal' appearance, he puts his tail around his waist secured by the hemline of his uniform shirt.
With an unsheathed Kurikara, the points in his ears lengthen about an inch or so and his fangs grow a bit longer, showing his more demonic side. As stated above his body takes on the blue flames quality in his hair and at the tip of his tail. He can also use the blue flames without unsheathing his sword but it's not as strong.

OVERALL?! - Growing up, Rin had always been the one considered the thug or the twins. Even at seven he would beat people for teasing him which even brought people to the point of calling him a demon. Sure he was partly, but he didn't know this back then. This carried over to even after he was fifteen and knew that he was partly a demon. He is also quick to defend his brother as Yukio had been the crybaby one when they were younger. Despite teasing him, Rin encourages Yukio especially when he had said that he wanted to be a doctor.
He feels most at home when he's cooking in the kitchen. Shirou had encouraged him at a young age when he showed an aptitude for cooking and Rin even struck up a friendship with the demon familiar (that is to say Mephisto's familiar) that worked in their dormitory kitchen, albeit after getting in a cooking battle with him and all. He's said that the best thing about cooking is seeing people enjoying the food that he's made and he can often be seen at the dorm making obento for himself and his brother for the day.
Rin's heritage is a sore point for him. As he had grown up thinking that he was human, and basically been lied to by his father and his brother (although he was quicker to forgive Yukio than his father), but it has become quite a sore point for him in some instances. People have wanted to kill him just because his father was quite evil, but it's not his fault, and he's working at dealing with it, and he has his twin to help though so far he hasn't seen him on the island that he's landed on so suddenly.

FATHER?! - Satan is his blood father, but he was raised by Shirou Fujimoto and he says that he's truly his father
SIBLINGS?! - Yukio Okumura (twin), Mephisto Pheles (hates to admit it, but it's his half-brother and yes that is his name >.>), and Amaimon (same as Mephisto)
IMPORTANT?! - He and Yukio are the current known half human children of Satan
FINALE?! - The birth of the Okumura twins sparked a change in the world of exorcists and humans in general. Their mother, Yuri had entered into a relationship with the King of Demons himself, Satan and thus the twns were conceived. At first all of the demonic traits showed themselves in Rin and Yukio pretty much grew up human, though since he was also a child of Satan, he's been able to see demons since the two were born. The Paladin, at the time Shiro Fujimoto, had been ordered to kill the newborn twins but Yuri had charged him with taking care of Rin and Yukio and thus he took the infants into his care but not without first binding Rin's demonic powers into the sword that the boy would later carry. This is the first time that Mephisto appears in the boys' lives as he was the one who actually bound Rin's demonic powers.
Grwoing up Rin showed some of his demonic traits by always getting into fights, but nothing physically happened until he was fifteen and on his way back to the monastery where he and his brother lived with Shiro and some of the monks. He had a run in with one bully that had been possesed by Astaroth, the demon known as the Rot King and had an altercation with him, and this served to be his Temptaint (or Machou), which allowed him to see demons, though at first he didn't accept that this was going on. (As his powers had been bound into the sword, he hadn't been able to see any demons at first). To make a long story short, Astaroth cam after him, wanting to take him to his blood father, and Shiro saved him once, revealing that both Rin and Yukio were half demons, but Rin was the one that inherited all of the traits of a half-demon whereas Yukio was the more human one. Astaroth had been exorcised once only to go back into the same host and come to the monastery to forcefully take Rin with him to Gehenna (equivalent of Hell). This second fight was tragic as it allowed Shiro to be possessed by Satan and the old man didn't live through it. Heh ad lived long enough to give Rin the Kurikara. Shiro's body was about to be pulled into the other world, but Rin, despite the protests of the monks, had drawn Kurikara, officially awakening his demonic abilities for the first time and destroyed the Gate that was drawing his father to Gehenna, but learned that it was too late. Yukio had also arrived on the scene and saw that their father was dead, and Rin didn't realize it but his younger twin blamed him for what happened.
Rin was visiting his father's grave when he first had a run in with the exorcists and the annoying school director that is Mephisto Pheles, who was, quite surprising at first, a demon as well as was indicated by his pointed ears and fangs. The exorcists had come to kill him, but he had surprised Mephisto by telling them that he wanted to become an exorcist like Shiro had been before he had died. Mephisto had allowed him to become one and soon he was reunited with Yukio as the two of them were to go to the same school and this would be where he began his career as an exorcist. His first surprise was when Yukio showed up to teach his first class at the exorcist's school and revealed that he's been an exorcist for two years and had started training when he was seven. It ended with Yukio pointing a gun at Rin, blaming him for their father's death, but Rin straightened things out with his brother.
This first year of high school was filled with mischief and many near death experiences. First his class had found out that he and Yukio were half demons, then he was taken by the head of the exorcist order and they had debated whether or not to kill him because he was the Son of Satan. Mephisto had bargained with them and Rin was allowed to live, though for a while his classmates more or less hated him because of the fact that Satan had killed many of their relatives on what they called the Blue Night. Life had seemed to go back to normal for a while, except for the fact that a few of the other higher ups wanted to bring about the destruction of Satan by bringing up the gate through the twins. At first it had only been Rin who was giving his blood for this, though it was against his will, but then Yukio decided to contribute to save Rin. This served to awaken the younger twin's demon blood and also allowed him to be controlled by Satan. Rin saved him from this and things began to go back to normal for the Okumura twins.
Until Rin ended up waking up on the so called deserted island. He had been back in the dorm room he shared with Yukio back at True Cross only to find himself on the island with no one else in sight around him.
(Eh...I tried to cut this down as there's plenty of things that go between these situations, but obviously I don't know the meaning of cutting down ._., but! this was about eleven paragraphs when I started...)
